  1. Nice selection! I see a lot of Van Sant…..he’s so brilliant. I think my peculiar taste in films stems off my love for the abstract. I so loathe ‘spoon-fed’ material. Many people I encounter in fact, don’t like his films because they say something absurd like they ‘don’t get it’ or ‘it’s way too slow’ and those are just some of the beautiful reasons why I adore his style. On another note, have you seen Elevator to the Gallows or Le Samourai? Those are two GREAT noir pieces. And a score that will really blow your mind is set to the film The Haunting of Juila by Colin Towns. Cheers!

    • I’m gonna check out Elevator to the Gallows tonight. Yes, I love Van Sant. He never underestimates the sound as well as the visual without dialogue. He’s still my favorite. Very curious about the flicks you’ve mentioned. Thanks for the tips! If you haven’t seen Soft for Digging I’d say watch that one. A real surprise from that one. Maybe 2 sentences of dialogue? Kept me glued the whole time.
